Welcome to HMTA!
Since 1965, the Helena Music Teachers Association (HMTA) has supported students, teachers, and families in their musical journeys.
Our Mission
HMTA exists to encourage cooperation among music teachers, promote professional growth, raise the standard of teaching, and provide performance and enrichment opportunities for students throughout the Helena area.
What We Offer
ScholarshipsWe offer scholarships to help students attend music camps, afford college-level music study, take private lessons, or purchase professional-quality instruments. | Our TeachersHMTA teachers are trained and experienced in a wide range of instruments and disciplines, including piano, voice, music theory, and nearly every orchestral and band instrument. |

Performance OpportunitiesPerformance is a vital part of music education! HMTA sponsors student recitals, our Annual HMTA Festival, guest performers, and even provides free Helena Symphony vouchers for students who study with HMTA teachers. | WorkshopsWe host educational workshops for both teachers and students throughout the year. |
